Running... competitively and for fun

I provided a link there to Road Runner Sports because it's my favorite on-line running store. The customer service is excellent. So in the last year or so I've been running quite a bit... I ran the Salt Lake Marathon in June, 4:33 http://www.saltlakecitymarathon.com/. It was a good time, and I was about 15 minutes slower than I thought I would be, and it was 93 degrees that day, which really didn't affect me that much. In July Brandon and I ran the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon which was a really good time, http://brycecanyonhalfmarathon.com/. It's mostly down hill and a good pre-cursor to the St. George Marathon. Brandon made me look really slow, he finished 7th among all men, 1:33. It took me 1:55. The St. George Marathon in October was very scenic and a good time http://www.stgeorgemarathon.com/. I actually did really well until mile 19 (2:45)... then the cramps started and persisited until I crossed the finish line at 4:16. So it took me an hour and half to go the last 7 miles, and normally I run 7 miles in an hour. When I'm flying, I like to see a new city by running, but without scenery and an iPod, I actually get bored pretty quick. This morning in Helena, MT, it was 19 degrees out, so I ran in the gym, and I could only stand to run for 50 minutes because I got bored. The next race for me is in St. Paul, MN on Jan 27. I'm doing the Half Marathon and Julie's doing the 5K. Hopefully Dave runs the Half with me. I'd like to discover different states by running marathons in as many different states as I can, but at the same time, I know physically it'd be better to diversify and start doing triathalons. We'll see.
